    In the USA, Poverty is defined as a person living in a household and does not have enough income to fulfill his basic need. The 11.4 % of the US population lives below the poverty line, according to the 2021 census. In the USA, poverty is measured through official poverty measures and supplemental poverty measures.

    The US government made different policies to reduce the percentage of people who live in poverty. Some of the government policies are as follows.

    1. The government expands safety programs through which people meats their basic needs and increase stability.
    2. Creating new good job opportunities for the people who become able to support their families.
    3. Minimum wages are increased from 7$ to 12$ a person can support his family.
    4. The government provides paid leave for the employees if they are sick.
    5. Increase the benefits for the labor class.
    6. Government increases the child tax permanently, so the parents meet their needs immediately.
    7. Expand access to health facilities for the general public.
